What is Termite Treatment Prior to Construction? - Pre-Construction or Soil Treatment entails constructing an anti-termite barrier beneath the building structure to protect against Subterranean Termite damage; this treatment is completed prior to the building's construction. Before the concrete slabs are laid on the ground, the sites are treated with a water-based termiticide using hydraulic spray nozzles.
Subterranean termites are killed by contact and ingestion of non-repellent termiticide.
Termites that come into contact with the termiticide suffer from the "slow kill," which they pass on to the rest of the colony. When the soil is saturated or excessively wet, or when it is likely to rain, treatment has limited effectiveness.
Bugs and pests don’t stand a chance.

If you're building your dream home or renovating an existing one, you'll want to make sure termites don't become permanent residents. Termites have the greatest ability to invade your home during construction because your home is exposed to the elements.
Construction is costly, but termite damage and treatment can drive up the price even more. Termites, in fact, cause over $5 billion in damage in the United States each year. 1 To break it down even more, termite treatments and damage repairs cost more than $9,000 on average. 2
With careful planning and a few small investments, you can help prevent termites from entering during new construction in the first place, allowing you to construct a home that is less susceptible to termites.
